Where to celebrate SailGP this weekend

15 January 2026

The inaugural Oracle Perth Sail Grand Prix hits the water this weekend (January 17 and 18) and it's officially a sell-out! Missed out on tickets? There's plenty of ways to catch the action this weekend in Fremantle.

From nautical cocktails and shipmates plates to big screens and after parties, expect festivities all weekend long as Freo (and the Doctor) get behind the Flying Roos.

JOIN A WATCH PARTY

THE NATIONAL

The National is open all weekend from 11am showing SailGP on every screen, and live and loud on the first floor on the hotel's epic new 3m screen. Enjoy nautical cocktails, seafood platters, and plenty of shipmates plates to share.

THE FEDERAL

Head to The Fed to catch all the action live on the big screen in the beer garden! With $10 pints of Balter XPA and Coopers Pale, it's a great spot to lay anchor for an afternoon.

THE OLD COURTHOUSE

The Old Courthouse will be screening the action all weekend with $15 Dark n’ Stormies, seafood specials, and live music in the garden post-racing. Open from midday.

VARSITY

Varsity Freo will be showing all the high-speed racing live and loud on the big screens all weekend, from 11am till late Saturday and Sunday. Think cold beers, big burgers, and front-row views of the action – no sunnies or sea legs required!

THE ESPLANADE

The iconic Esplanade Hotel is going all out with a live watch party at Ball & Chain, with big TVs inside and outside on the alfresco, and a Gage Roads takeover including $10 pints of Huey Lager and $13 Single Fins and Hazy As Pales with live music from 5pm.

In the Marine Lounge Bar you'll find an express lunch menu, a Heineken takeover, plenty of G&Ts (or should we say SailGP&Ts!) and limited edition cocktails including The Foil and Above The Surface featuring flavours inspired by the action at Bathers Beach.

BATHERS BEACH HOUSE

The closest you'll get to the flying catamarans, Bathers Beach House are putting you on the beach itself with tables, loungers, platters, oysters, and an outdoor bar to see you through the afternoon. But hurry, this vantage point is getting snapped up quick!

THE SAIL & ANCHOR

The Sail & Anchor are throwing a watch party for the whole family with a kids' treasure hunt and a pop-up ice cream stall in addition to $12 Heinekens and live and loud racing action on the big screens.

CELEBRATE AT A SUNSET SOIRÉE

KIDOGO ARTHOUSE

As SailGP concludes, an oceanfront afterparty unfolds at Kidogo Arthouse featuring premium hospitality, live music, and sweeping views of Bathers Beach. The perfect place to keep the party going beyond the finish line.

ENJOY A LATE NIGHT AT THE MUSEUM

WA MARITIME MUSEUM

To mark the occasion and give you more time to explore its maritime wonders, the WA Maritime Museum will open until 8pm on Saturday 17 January. The café will be licensed for the evening too, offering a relaxed spot to take in the colours of the Indian Ocean as the sun goes down and allow sailing fans to dive into some of Australia’s greatest maritime stories, including the legendary America's Cup winning Australia II.

Under the Dome screenings of short films including Whale Super Highway, Ningaloo Reef, and Star Dreaming will also be playing.
