Returning from 10–12 July 2026, Great Southern Truffles once again partners with Fremantle Markets to present this much-loved, free community event, now bigger and more exciting than ever. Since its beginnings in 2015, the festival has grown year-on-year, drawing food lovers from across the state and beyond.
This year’s expanded program features something for everyone, from truffle dog agility and engaging truffle talks to live cooking demonstrations, signature dining events, tastings, wine pairings, truffle hunts, and a vibrant festival marquee. Families can enjoy a range of interactive activities, including games, “guess the weight” competitions, and “find the truffle” experiences designed to delight younger visitors.

Truffle House
At the heart of the festival, the large-scale Truffle House marquee will be hosted adjacent to Fremantle Markets on Henderson Street, offering tastings, cooking demonstrations, artisan products and premium truffle goods from Great Southern Truffles.
Fremantle Markets
A truffle-inspired culinary showdown of exclusive festival dishes. Visitors can embark on a flavour-filled journey through the Markets, discovering Eggspot's indulgent Truffle Brioche Burger and a host of limited-edition creations crafted especially for the festival (looking at you truffle infused pork rib bao!).
Truffle Dog Hunt Demo
Watch a live truffle dog demo at Old Courthouse.
Taking place twice daily on Saturday and Sunday, visitors will have the chance to watch specially trained truffle dogs in action as they sniff out prized black truffles in a fun and engaging live demonstration.
Truffle your way around town
Truffle inspired events and food specials are happening around Freo. Visitors are invited to experience Fremantle through a distinctly truffle-led lens, from truffle inspired dumplings at Emily Taylor to truffle infused cocktails at Anglesea and a seasonal truffle set menu at Little Creatures.
Don't forget to check out the opening night festivities at The Old Courthouse, where guests will be served a three-course dinner menu celebrating the truffle, while enjoying a talk by the experts at Great Southern Truffle. Places for this event are limited so don't miss out.
