Calamity's Rod

Located in the very heart of Fremantle’s historic West End, Calamity’s Rod bar and brewery is a perfect setting to enjoy an ice-cold beer.

Innovatively housed in shipping containers and set in an outdoor garden space, Calamity's Rod provides a unique space to catch up with friends to sample their locally brewed Pale Ales, Lagers and Ales.

A highlight of Calamity's is the imposing mural by artist Finton Magee. The work is dedicated to six Irish Fenian Prisoners who escaped from the British penal colony in Western Australia. Escaping on a whaling boat in 1876, the Fenian's were able to reach the United States and live the rest of their lives as free men. You can read more about the mural on Calamity Rod's website.
