Tidal Moon will host a special one night only concert to raise critically needed funds for ocean conservation in Shark Bay.
Held on Sunday 1 June at the Freo Social Club, Sea Grass Festival 2025 will feature music, culture and an impressive lineup of performers. Hosted by comedian Kevin Kropinyeri, the concert will include performances by Aboriginal and non-Aboriginal artists including Stephen Pigram (of the Pigram Brothers), Phil Walleystack, Prita Grealy, Morgan Joanel, Natasha Eldridge and Emma Sibosado.
The concert will help fund important restoration work and draw attention to the need to protect ecologically sensitive marine areas like Shark Bay.
In 2011-2012 a marine heat wave wiped out between 22-25% of Shark Bay’s seagrass beds, which are an important habitat for sea cucumbers and nursery for many other marine species. Tidal Moon has made it their mission to restore Shark Bay’s seagrass. Planting will assist with restoring this important ecosystem and will help prevent the release of up to 40 million tonnes of stores of carbon dioxide ‘bombs’ normally kept locked in the sediment by the seagrass.
