'Live from the underworld – Doom Juice is saving wine culture for the next generation'
This week we're welcoming Doom Juice, the natural wine label co-founded by Zachary Godbolt and Sebastian Keys.
Sebastian had the wine credentials, straight from university into wine wholesale production, while Zach’s background was marketing, design and a ravewear clothing brand that already flirted with something unconventional. In 2020, they scored an opportunity to make a small run of rosé in New Zealand.
However when Covid happened plans to travel to NZ were cancelled along with the chance to make their first vintage. Having already bought the fruit they plowed ahead and made it on home-soil in Sydney - and sold it all within a month.
From there, Doom Juice launched into a full-time operation. Today, it’s stocked in some of the best bottle shops and restaurants in the country, exports to the UK and Singapore, and is about to open an urban winery and cellar door in Marrickville.
