The City of Fremantle, headspace Fremantle, FOMO, Neami National and the Flaming Galah are collaborating for 2025 to put on Freo Pride Fest in Walyalup Koort on the 1st of November. This festival first and foremost will be developed and driven by local community and young people alike who are passionate about the rights of LGBTQIA+ Community. This will remain a non-alcoholic based event to encourage families and young people to attend and all activities operating within the festival are to free and accessible for anyone of any age to participate.
Freo Pride Fest is a celebration of all things Pride and Queer for everyone in the community to enjoy. There will be live music, face painting, food, market stalls, painting, pottery, screen printing and more!
Fremantle Library will be hosting a Queer Micro Fiction Anthology Exhibition that celebrates the LGBTQIA+ community by sharing stories that raise awareness of what people, who identify as being part of the LGBTQIA+ community, have experienced over past decades. In the leadup to the exhibition, Freo Library will be running micro fiction writing workshops in collaboration with Night Parrot Press. The Exhibition will launch in the Freo Library on the 1st of November at Freo Pride Fest and will remain in the library as a live walk-through exhibition through the month of November. Bec Price will be leading a group of young queer people,
