Getting around
Fremantle is a compact city to explore.
• Walking–choose one of two walking routes from the passenger terminal into the city centre from the cruise walking map.
• Taxis–there is a taxi rank outside the passenger terminal.
• Train–Fremantle Bus and Train Station is a short walk from the terminal across the pedestrian bridge. There is a regular train service to Perth (every 15 minutes on a weekday and 30 minutes on weekends). Check Transperth website for timetables.
• Shuttle service– the City of Fremantle provides a free shuttle service into the city centre and return for many of the international transit cruise ships. Passengers should check with the cruise ship to confirm if the free cruise shuttle is operating.
• Airport transfers–Perth Platinum Tours & Transfers offer direct transport from the passenger terminal to Perth Airport.
Luggage storage
There are limited luggage storage facilities available in Fremantle. Cruise passengers embarking in Fremantle may be able to check their luggage in at the passenger terminal prior to the ship's departure giving them the day to explore Fremantle. Check with the travel agent to confirm the arrangements. Some accommodation providers will allow travellers to leave their luggage in a secure area.
