There’s an element of celebration in the air in our port city this week as our chefs are cooking up a culinary storm, our wait & bar staff are polishing the glasses, restocking the wine racks and getting everything front of house ready to open their doors and welcome you back to Fremantle.
A lot’s happened in the last few months – now it’s time to celebrate the relaxing of restrictions, catch up with the people we love, and deliver on that epic date night you’ve been promising your better half.
The date night is about making a real night of it and savouring the experience. It’s anything but a slap up meal here… it’s a beautifully crafted experience that you’ll remember as the night you emerged from isolation.
Set the mood for the night by starting with an aperitif at one of Fremantle’s small bars or pubs – find inspiration at our bar hop best of blog – then head off to experience the full sit down, dine in experience from starters all the way through to desert and top it off with an after dinner drink. We recommend booking ahead to secure your table – links included to help you on your way to a great night out in Freo.
A winters night calls for wood fired ovens and Manuka Woodfire Kitchen, Sandrino Cafe and Pizza Bella Roma will have their fires roaring.
Over at Fishing Boat Harbour, with it's beautiful waterside views, Kailis Fish Marketcafe, Cicerello's, Twin Fin and Char Char open this weekend.
Fancy some good Italian fare, Benny's, Capri, La Sosta and Nunzio’s will be open.
Like some music atmosphere over your meal – The National Hotel is planning a live music extravaganza all weekend and Gypsy Tapas House on Queen Street is a gorgeous hidden gem. Kidogo Arthouse are presenting a series of soirees in the main gallery.
If you prefer a spicy touch try Lions and Tigers or Saroor.
Asian food lovers can head to Modern Eatery, Joy Kitchen, Vivisen Teahouse, Sala Thai, The Loft Cafe or Aroy Thai.
Fine dining experiences are on the table in North Fremantle at Propeller and Habitué. In the city centre head to Bread in Common and Tonic & Ginger at The Old Synagogue. In South Fremantle there’s Madalena's Bar.
Great pub food is the main event at The Beaconsfield Hotel, The Local Hotel or Clancy's Fish Pub, Federal Hotel or Norfolk Hotel in the city.
Date nights are never complete without dessert. Steaming Mexican hot chocolate with churros are on offer at San Churro or walk off your meal with an evening stroll around the streets to hunt out the perfect sweet treat – there’s plenty of options for ice-cream too ... Ben & Jerry's, Freo Icecream & Waffles, Cocco Bianco Gelato and Swan River Gelato.
A Freo date night … we can’t wait to welcome back all of the lovers.
