Kick off the new year at two of Australia’s biggest music festivals, discover our diverse arts scene, and soak up the sun in alfresco Freo. Enjoy one of the city’s free events or grab your tickets to the hottest concerts now! 

FALLS FESTIVAL

7 – 8 January, 11am – 11pm | Fremantle Park

After a two-year hiatus, Falls returns to Freo with an epic line-up over two days. With international borders open again, world-class acts include Arctic Monkeys, Lil Nas X, DJ Peggy Gou, Chvrches, Jamie xx, Aminé, CamelPhat, PinkPantheress, Rico Nasty and Ben Böhmer. Aussie talent includes Ocean Alley, Genesis Owusu, G Flip, Spacey Jane, DMA'S, Amyl and the Sniffers, Young Franco, Luude, Choomba and Anna Lunoe.

SUMMERSALT

29 January, 12pm – 9pm | Esplanade Park

Go head over heels for Summersalt, headlined by Angus & Julia Stone, Ben Harper, City and Colour, The Rubens, Middle Kids and Alex the Astronaut. Enjoy family-friendly activities, or just dance the day and night away, with food trucks and a pop-up bar at this beachside location.

FRINGE SHOWS IN FREO

20 January – 19 February | Multiple Fremantle venues

Fringe is coming to Perth’s port city and there’s so much happening here, you won’t need to leave all season! Experience comedy, theatre, performance, kids’ events, variety, music and musicals across nine Freo venues.

HAND IN HAND - KIDOGO IRISH ABORIGINAL FESTIVAL

17 – 19 March, 3.30pm – 10.30pm | Kidogo Arthouse

The relatively unknown connection between Irish and Aboriginal people in WA is presented through a program of music, poetry, dance, art, food and football. Come along to the live performances, readings, exhibitions and some friendly competitions between these two rich cultures.

HIGH VOLTAGE

7 May, 2pm – 6pm | Fremantle Oval / Esplanade Reserve / Wilson Park

Rock out at this unique, roving, free concert where the bands perform on the back of flatbed trucks moving through the main streets of Freo. Party in the parks or join the revelry at venues along the route. More details will be announced soon. 

FREMANTLE INTERNATIONAL STREET ARTS FESTIVAL

7 – 10 April (Easter long weekend) | Various venues

Freo will be hopping this Easter as the city transforms into an open-air stage for four days of free festivities. Australia’s largest street theatre festival is an eclectic mix of high-calibre buskers, theatre, comedy and cabaret, performing everywhere from the harbour to historic landmarks. 

FREMANTLE BOAT AND SEAFOOD FESTIVAL

10 – 12 March, 9am – 5pm | Fremantle Esplanade / Fishing Boat Harbour

Celebrate the best of WA’s seafood and sailing, along with premium wines, beers and boutique beverages. Enjoy tastings, cooking and fishing demonstrations, and boat displays on the water.

REVEALED ABORIGINAL ART MARKET

6 May | Fremantle Arts Centre

Revealed provides a platform for new and emerging Aboriginal artists from across the state to share their work and culture. The 2023 program includes a special launch event, exhibitions, artist talks, workshops and a market for people to buy artworks.
