Fremantle’s Fishing Boat Harbour precinct is the home to Fremantle’s recreational and commercial fishing fleet and surrounded by boardwalks, café’s, restaurants and a brewery many of which serve fish straight off these boats.

The harbour offers visitors a unique insight into the enduring commercial fishing industry that continues to operate in Fremantle and provides a colourful backdrop for an afternoon or evening stroll.

Fishing Boat Harbour is a favourite destination for those wishing to sample fresh seafood delights. Options are plentiful from fine waterfront seafood dining, to casual fish and chips on the boardwalk while watching the sun set over the Indian Ocean.

Craft beer lovers are in their element with the famous Little Creatures brewery located right on the Harbour’s edge, offering patrons the opportunity to drink boutique beers while enjoying the cooling afternoon breeze of the Fremantle Doctor. Their beer garden has been voted one of the top 10 in Australia.

A remarkable vessel built in Fremantle and now based in Fishing Boat Harbour (behind Little Creatures) is the replica of the Duyfken. The Duyfken was the first Dutch vessel to chart the Australian coastline in 1666.

Starsand is a 65ft ketch rigged luxury yacht offering overnight, day and twilight sails out of Fremantle. Visit Carnac and Rottnest Island as well as the surrounding waters off Garden Island or book an exclusive charter and stay on board overnight. Starsand operates form Fremantle from October to May.

For the more adventurous fun seekers take the Westcoast Jet, ‘Okoiedokie’ boat, for a wild ride in the most powerful open-ocean adventure jetboat of its kind in Australia.

For a stunning and completely different perspective of Fremantle, take a ride on the Skyview Observation Wheel opposite Fishing Boat Harbour in Esplanade Park. As the big wheel turns look beyond the trees to uninterrupted views of Fremantle and the harbour.
